Who we are

OCRC coordinates scientific efforts to find solutions for obesity, a disease highly associated with a number of serious health problems such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis and certain kinds of cancer. The overall mortality directly and indirectly associated with obesity is rapidly increasing in Brazil and all around the world – so much so that, today, it is considered a global epidemic. It’s about time we gather our brightest minds to try putting an end to this sad tendency!
